This impressive red brick 4 Star Hotel and Restaurant was built in 1939, when breweries invested in superb quality buildings. On entering, the pub has more the feel of a country house than a suburban hostelry, with it's wooden beams and panelling. It was extensively refurbished in 2013. To the left and right, are very comfortable seating areas, with the enclosed restaurant area separated from the long bar by stained glass partitions. The 100 seat concert room has it's own bar and features regular live entertainment, before which, pre-concert dining is popular. The A La Carte restaurant also has special offers, e.g. Early Diners, Sunday Lunch and Chippy Tuesday. Quiz night Thursday from 20:30.
