Stone built pub alongside the Macclesfield canal and Marple Top Lock. Comfortable and welcoming. Has live music Saturday evenings and Brass band concerts Summer Sunday afternoons. Food times on Bank Holidays same as Saturday/Sunday times.

Re-opened after a complete refurbishment in Autumn 2025, which removed several interior walls, including of the two small snugs at the front of the building. The beer garden, overlooking the canal, now includes an outdoor pizza oven, in use in good weather.
